Celebrations is the 25th anniversary set from 2021. 30th Celebration is the 2026 anniversary expansion. They are different releases, with different products and checklists. A listing labelled only “Pokémon anniversary” is not specific enough to identify either one.

If you are looking for the new release, use our 30th Celebration Australian guide for dates and product comparisons.

The pack totals do not make the boxes directly equivalent. They contain different expansions and promos. Decide which cards you want before comparing the price per pack.

English Celebrations, Japanese 25th Anniversary Collection and Golden Box

Japan’s official 25th anniversary product range includes 25th Anniversary Collection and Golden Box products. An English translation of a Japanese listing does not change the language of the cards inside.

  • Celebrations: use this English set name and its own checklist when matching cards.
  • 25th Anniversary Collection: check the Japanese card number and language, and distinguish regular cards from separately listed promos.
  • Golden Box: a search result may be for a sealed box, an accessory or a graded card associated with that product. Read the individual item description.
  • 30th Celebration: the newer anniversary expansion has its own products. Do not treat an older Golden Box or Celebrations ETB as a 30th anniversary release.

For either anniversary, photograph details matter: match the language, set mark, card number and any special stamp. For graded singles, match the pictured slab and certification details as well.

Which anniversary should you collect?

Start with the cards you want

Use the official Celebrations checklist (PDF) for the older English set. For the new expansion, follow the 30th Celebration card-reference links. Make separate lists rather than mixing cards from both years into one assumed set.

Decide between sealed products and singles

A sealed box suits a collection of unopened products or an opening experience. A single card lets you choose the exact illustration and condition. For a specific promo, compare the individual card with the complete product that originally included it.

Compare the complete Australian cost

Use AUD totals including delivery, and match the same edition and condition. A raw card and a PSA-graded card are different purchases. Neither an anniversary label nor a grade guarantees future resale value.
